The Hoefer IEF100 integrates all components needed for successful isoelectric focusing (IEF) with immobilized pH gradient strips (IPGs), commonly used with 2D electrophoresis experiments.
It brings together a 12KV high voltage power supply with Peltier cooling for the fastest separations possible. The onboard electronics controls current and voltage to prevent overheating, provides an intuitive graphical user interface to enter custom IEF programs, monitor and edit performance parameters, access run time information, LAN control and programming plus easily accessible RS232 ports to acquire and log real-time instrument performance data when needed for GLP purposes. The electrodes are adjustable for optimal contact with IPGS ranging from 7cm to 24cm in length.
