Macerozyme R-10 is an enzyme used to aid the breakdown of plant tissue to create single cell isolates. It is often used in conjuction with Onozuka R-10 (ref. B16419) or with Onuzuka RS (ref. B16420).
Activities: Pectinase apx. 0.5 U/mg
Unit definition: 1 U catalyzes the liberation of 1 µmole of reducing groups from pectic acid per minute at 25 °C, pH 4.5 calculated as galacturonic acid. Reducing groups determined with alkaline copper reagent.
Hemicellulase: apx. 0.25 U/mg
Unit definition: 1 U is equivalent to 1 µmole of reducing groups released from beechwood xylan per hour at 37 °C, pH 5.5, calculated as xylose.
Unit definition: 1 U catalyzes the liberation of 1 µmole glucose from sodium carboxymethyl cellulose per minute at 40 °C, pH 4.5; glucose determined with alkaline copper reagent.

- Optimum temperature: 40 - 50 °C.
