Glucose oxidase from Aspergillus niger, 220 U/mg
This is a lyophilized formulation of Glucose oxidase
Mw 160 000 • CAS 9001-37-0
Glucose oxidase or GOx catalyzes the oxidation of β-D-glucose into D-glucono-1,5-lactone, which then hydrolyzes to gluconic acid. It is used to determine free glucose in body fluids (diagnostics), in vegetal raw material, and in the food industry. Additionally it has applications in biotechnologies, typically enzyme assays for biochemistry including biosensors in nanotechnologies.
