Aprotinin CAS 9087-70-1
Derived from Bovine lung tissue
Aprotinin s a powerful protease inhibitor of trypsin, chymotrypsin, plasmin and kallikrein activity. However it does not inhibit Papain activity.
For in vitro inhibition of fibrinolytic activity in blood samples.
Purity greater than 95%
Activity is 5850 to 7500 Kallikrein inhibitor U/mg dry protein
Form: Lyophilized powder.
Unit definition: 1 IU (inhibitor unit) inhibits 1 U trypsin as defined by cleavage of 1 µmol
BAEE (N-benzoyl-L-arginine ethyl ester) per minute (see under trypsin, cat.no. 37291).
Activity in other units: min. 3 Ph. Eur. Units (PEU)/mg, based on dried substance.
Unit definition: 1 Ph. Eur. Unit of aprotinin inhibits 50 % of the enzymatic activity of 2 microkatals
trypsin, measured with BAEE as substrate at pH 8.0 and 25 °C.
