Pronase E
Pronase E is a mix of hydrolytic enzymes
Minimum activity for Pronase E is 5.0DMC-U/mg
Pronase E is an enzyme mixture derived form Streptomyces griseus. It is typically used for the digestion of peptides peptides by hydrolysis for structural analysis of proteins and for nucleic acid isolation.
Unit definition: 1 DMC-U (1U) is the amount of Pronase E enzymatic activity that catalyzes the cleavage of 1 µ-equivalent peptide bond from dimethyl casein per minute at 25 °C, pH 7.5, expressed in terms of the appearance of new terminal amino groups.
Activity in other units: ca. 1 000 000 PU-units/g (casein substrate; 40 °C, pH 7.4, ca. 20 000 PUK-units/g (casein substrate, 40 °C, pH 7.5).
