Glutamate dehydrogenase, 100 U/mg protein

Glutamate dehydrogenase can be used to determine L-glutamate, ammonia and 2-oxoglutaric acid and urea determination in conjunction with urease (cat. no. 37799).

Details:

  • Activity: 100U/mg protein
  • In 50 % glycerol solution
  • 25 mg correspond to approx. 1 ml

Notes:

Unit definition: 1 U catalyzes the reductive amination of 1 µmole

2-oxoglutarate per minute at 25 °C, pH 7.3 in the presence of ADP.

Activity in other units: ca. 40 U/mg protein (1 U causes the transformation of 1 µmole 2-oxoglutarate per minute at 25 °C and pH 7.3 under assay conditions not containing ADP).

Extraneous activities: LDH, MDH each max. 0.01 %; Ammonium ions less than 0.001 µmole per unit.

Storage Temperature: +2 °C to +8 °C

Microphotometric determination of enzymes in brain sections: III. Glutamate dehydrogenase
