Digitonin is a water soluble plant derived steriodal saponin.
It is used to solubilize lipids and release membrane receptors.
Solubility in water: 1 g is suspended in 20 ml water and dissolved by heating to 95 - 98 °C. After cooling to 4 °C this solution will remain clear for at least 24 hours.
