Pronase E
is a mixture of enzymes derived form Sterptomyces griseus. It is typically used of structural analysis of proteins and for nucleic acid isoloation.

Unit definition: 1 DMC-U (1U) is the amount of Pronase E enzymatic activity that catalyzes the cleavage of 1 µ-equivalent peptide bond from dimethyl casein per minute at 25 °C, pH 7.5, expressed in terms of the appearance of new terminal amino groups.
