Glucose oxidase or GOx is a lyophilize product that can be used to determine free glucose in body fluids (diagnostics), in vegetal raw material, and in the food industry. Additionally it has applications in biotechnologies, typically enzyme assays for biochemistry including biosensors in nanotechnologies.

  • Activity: minimum 220U/mg protein
  • Isoelectric point: pH 4.6
  • pH optimum: pH 5.5 with broad range 4 – 7
  • Extraneous activities: alpha-Amylase, maltase and saccharase less than 0.2 %.
  • GOx/catalase: min. 25

Notes:
Inhibitors: p-chloromercuribenzoate, heavy metal ions, hydroxylamine, hydrazine, sodium bisulphite.

Unit definition: 1 U catalyzes the oxidation of 1 µmole glucose to glucuronic acid per minute at 25 °C, pH 7 coupled with peroxidase ando-dianisidine.

Storage Temperature: -15 °C to -25 °C
